ARCS
What is an Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS)?
Under the 2014 NYC Building Code, a new “high rise” building (over 75 feet in height) in any of the five boroughs must include provisions for FDNY in-building radio communications. Older buildings undergoing renovation or changes in occupancy classification may also have to meet this requirement. This specific in-building radio communications implementation is known as an FDNY Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS).
RF Solutions can provide a turnkey solution, or assist contractors and building owners with design, permits and authorization, project management, testing, certification and final FDNY approval. Our proprietary products, the DRC (Dedicated Radio Console), and the RAU (Radio Amplification Unit) are manufactured in the U.S. and exceed all industry requirements.
Once a building has ARCS installed, we provide monitoring and service agreements to save our customers time and money. We also manage the required testing and filings for annual certification and five-year recertification to ensure continued compliance with NYC regulations.
RF Solutions is a member of the Safer Building Coalition, and has met FDNY’s stringent standards for certification and is approved to operate, test and maintain ARC Systems in NYC.
