1240 Metcalf Avenue Receives an FDNY Letter of Recommendation
On June 14th, we received another FDNY stamp of approval, this time for our work at 1240 Metcalf Avenue in the Soundview section of the Bronx. The Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS) project at 1240 Metcalf was a true collaboration between Monadnock Construction, High Rise Fire, Glo Electric, and RF Solutions. RF Solutions oversaw the smarts and parts of the project, but our partners ensured the system was installed correctly and met all FDNY standards. It was a pleasure to work with Glo Electric, High Rise Fire & Security, and Monadnock Construction on this project. All the advanced planning of the installation details by Glo and Monadnock made for a smooth project from beginning to end!
Monadnock Project Manager, Ahmad Shoubir, said, “On behalf of the Monadnock team at 1240 Metcalf Ave, we would like to sincerely thank RF Solutions for all the hard work they’ve done with respect to preconstruction coordination, on-site walkthroughs, and final closeouts with FDNY and other governing agencies. It’s been a privilege to work with a well put together team who helped pull the project to the finish line.”
The newly constructed 11-story mixed-use building was developed by Acacia Network and Phipps Houses, a nonprofit developer and owner of affordable housing in NYC. The building meets Passive House standards, a building standard that dramatically reduces space heating demands and allows for simplified methods of providing needed heat. The building’s 223 new units for extremely low to moderately low-income households was constructed through the Mix and Match Program of the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and the Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) program of HPD.
RF Solutions takes pride in the work we do, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know that we play a part in making NYC safe for the people who live and work here.
