Senior RF Design & Field Engineer – DAS/ERCES/Public Safety Communications
Location: Maryland/DC Metro Area, or Southern New Jersey
Candidates located in the Maryland/DC region or Southern New Jersey will work remotely from their home office and travel directly to customer sites as needed. Periodic travel to RF Solutions’ Northern New Jersey headquarters may be required for training, meetings, or company events.

About the Opportunity
RF Solutions is a leading provider of public safety communications, LMR two-way radio, cellular, Wi-Fi, and in-building wireless systems. We are seeking a Senior RF Design & Field Engineer to design, implement, and support DAS, ERCES, BDA, and other wireless communications systems for commercial, healthcare, government, education, industrial, high-rise residential, and mission-critical facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. What You Will Do
- Design DAS, ERCES, BDA, and wireless communications systems for new and existing facilities.
- Develop RF propagation studies, coverage analyses, system layouts, and RF link budgets.
- Create Bills of Material (BOMs), equipment specifications, and complete design packages.
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, installation guidelines, and testing procedures.
- Support commissioning, testing, optimization, and acceptance activities.
- Troubleshoot RF performance issues, interference concerns, and coverage deficiencies.
- Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, AHJs, contractors, and customers.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and project records.
- Stay current on industry standards, code requirements, and emerging technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on RF design experience.
- Strong understanding of RF propagation, antenna theory, link budgets, and wireless system design.
- Experience designing DAS, BDA, ERCES, or other wireless communications systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical diagrams, and specifications.
- Experience with RF test equipment, spectrum analyzers, and data collection tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, or similar CAD software.
Required Certifications & Experience
- iBwave certification (Level 1, 2, or 3).
- Experience with IFC, NFPA, and public safety code compliance.
- Experience with major cellular carriers and BDA manufacturers. Certifications a plus.
- Experience with grid testing, sweep testing, PIM testing, and system acceptance testing.
- Familiarity with FCC licensing requirements and AHJ coordination.
- Additional relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Travel Requirements
Travel to customer sites throughout the assigned territory as required. Must possess a valid, clean driver’s license and be able to travel independently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and safely access active construction sites and customer facilities as needed.
Work Authorization
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $80,000–$120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
